This is a natural product secreted by the nursery bees (between 5 and 13 days old) and used as the only food by the larvae for the first three days of their life, which is the period of maximum growth. It is used by the Queen throughout her life.

Royal Jelly is the vital substance or the food which assures the characteristic development of the Queen allowing her, unaided, to repopulate the bee-hive for 4-5 years, while the worker bees grow old in a few months and are infertile. The Queen Bee is also 3-4 times bigger than the worker bee.

The quality of Royal Jelly is determined by its content of 10 Hydroxy- 2 - trans- decenoic acid, which is the antibiotic factor. Therefore, not all Royal Jellies are the same. Those with a high content of 10 HDeA are superior. We select a Chinese product which is accepted by the queen bee that has a high 10 HDeA - content always greater than 2.05%.

Dr. Remy Chauvin and other scientists proved that Royal Jelly has an antibacteriological effect. Even when diluted from 1:400 to 1:320, it slowed down the bacteriological growth of staphylococcus aureus ( which causes carbuncle, abscesses and furuncles) completely destroying the bacteria when diluted from 1:20 to 1:80. Royal Jelly proved to be effective even against Koch- Bacillus (tuberculosis).

Royal Jelly is always recommended when the metabolic defense mechanism of the suprarenal hormones is imbalanced. Doctors Troizky, Nisov and Lupatchev of the Riazan Institute of Medicine, say that Royal Jelly acts on the human organism as a stimulant: general well-being improves along with an increase in vitality, stamina and the ability to work both physically and mentally. According to the above- mentioned doctors sugar levels in the blood drop by as much as 30 % , having taken Royal Jelly. In general , we can say that Royal Jelly is a stimulant in the human organism. It improves general well-being, increases physical and mental ability, provides a sense of optimism, happiness and desire to live. It is believed that Royal Jelly promotes an increase in the formation of red blood corpuscles and hemoglobin, which in some cases increases sexual potency and reduces the risks of arteriosclerosis. Medical studies done on workers in a company have demonstrated that Royal Jelly, taken on a prolonged basis, gradually improved work performance. Psychophysiological and intelligence tests were also carried out. In 22.6% of the cases reduced reflexes normalized, and three months after the experiment 17.8% maintained this level of reflex normalization. In 64.5% of cases examined after taking Royal Jelly memory capacity had improved.

It is demonstrated that by taking 1/2 g. of Royal Jelly daily, all vitamin requirements in the human body -vitamins A, E, C, and B- are covered. Therefore, people who take 1/2 g. of Royal Jelly every day do not need to take any other type of vitamins.

Although 2.84% of the substances, of the substances which make up Royal Jelly have not been fully investigated, it is believed that it may have "a youth maintaining effect".

However, these substances, in contact with alcohol, may be damaged and thus impair the beneficial effects of Royal Jelly.

A lot has been proven scientifically. Nevertheless, in 1959 renowned scientists Dr. Townsend and Dr. H.J. Morgan, of the Department of Public Health, Canada, carried out some tests on two groups of 1000 mice, with no contact between the two. First of all they injected both groups of mice with cancer cells, and one group with Royal Jelly before being injected with cancer cells. The 1000 mice not given Royal Jelly reached a normal age.

So, we can deduce that even though Royal Jelly does not cure cancer, it can help by taking an increased and prolonged daily dosage, to prevent it.

In conclusion, one can say that, not being habit forming a daily maintenance dosage of Royal Jelly , can and must be taken -the amount we leave to the choice of medical professionals in accordance with each individual case- and finally reiterate the old saying "Prevention is better than cure".
