Right this minute the staff at Glenhaven is fulfilling the challenging task of reaching out to men and women with drug and alcohol addictions. We are open 24 hours a day- 7 days a week - 365 day a year. 

Glenhaven has brought in over four thousand troubled men and women. We have one of the only facilities in South Orange County (not funded by the state) that takes individuals with little or no money, which has made a sober living environment available for many who otherwise would not have had a chance. 

Glenhaven observes the guidelines set forth by the California State Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs. Our homes are structured to meet the needs of alcoholics, addicts and the dually diagnosed, seeking low cost housing in a support-group setting. Our homes are within walking distance to 12-Step meetings, bus-lines, shopping and beaches. Residents are required to attend thirty meetings in their first thirty days, get a sponsor and remain clean and sober. 

Random drug and alcohol screening is frequently conducted, both as a means of deterrence and in cases of suspected usage. A dirty test constitutes grounds for immediate eviction, followed by notification to local law enforcement authorities, parole and probation departments. 

Supportive services such as job referral assistance, court-liaison and representation, linkage with county and state welfare, and rehabilitation agencies are provided. 

As a non-profit organization, Glenhaven would like to expand services. This would include the addition of a foster home and the general upgrade of existing facilities.

It should be noted that some of our most outstanding successes came to Glenhaven with nothing more than a sense of total surrender, imbued with a burning ambition to transform their lives.
